Whitebox: Floor 2 (Bar)
First Iterations
Pit Boss is a 3rd-Person Action Simulator, where players manage a casino while catching cheaters. We wanted the level to provide lots of social space for NPC crowds, while offering many vantage points for the player to survey and find cheaters on the casino floor. We designed a casino with 3 levels: a gambling floor, a bar floor, and the security/staff floor. These designs are for the second floor (the bar), featuring bars, tables, and both staircases and an elevator to the other floors. I played with several designs for the layout, opting for the Peanut awning style and symmetrical bar layouts.
Final Digitized
The final layout was adjusted slightly from the original peanut style. I removed the walking section above the master staircase to make it a stronger landmark and set-piece. We also added in cash-out stations that act as enter/exit points directly above those on the first floor, allowing for more diversity in NPC spawning and cheater escape routes.

- Extra rooms here for interrogation/story/etc
